Basic girl takes Atlanta

I had the chance to visit Atlanta with my sister last week and we spent two days exploring the city.  Ive only ever driven through Atlanta so it was fun to actually walk around and get a feel of the city. The first day of course was spent shopping and spending a little money at the Topshop store. Why isn't there one in Charlotte yet?! My sister and I both bought the same high neck black dress that will probably be appearing on here soon. It is beautiful and I love it. The second day we went to this little knick knack store and were walking around the shops and decided it was so pretty we should stop and take pictures!  With my basic Starbucks cup included of course.

When the leaves start to change...

Fall is here y'all! And I'm in love. I feel like a giddy little kid every time I walk outside and its a little chilly or I notice the leaves changing colors. Its always been my favorite time of year but October in Florida and October in North Carolina are two completely different things. Its pretty much been love at first sight for me. The best thing about this weather is dressing for it though. Bring on the boots, vest, scarfs, and leggings! This white vest is from h&m two years ago and its still easily one of my favorite cold weather wears. Its a perfect statement piece for a more casual outfit. The boots are Ralph Lauren and a few seasons old so I tagged some cheaper versions below. Now I just need someone to bring me a hot chocolate and one of those cinnamon broom sticks that smell incredible...

Transition Weather

Winter is coming.... (GOT anyone?) But before winter comes the best season. Fall. Now that were starting to have cooler days I'm trying to start working my colder weather clothes in. Long sleeve shirts that are more see-through or lighter materials are perfect for transition weather. I got this one from HM for only $10. They've been having insane sales for the end of summer so I scooped up a few things including these shorts (also $10). I won't be able to wear these shorts for much longer but for that price it was definitely worth it.

Parachute Pants

For any girls who have a sister/mom/roommate you'll understand what I'm about to say. There is nothing better then rummaging in someone else's closet for clothes to borrow. As soon as I saw this top in my sisters closet I knew I wanted to borrow it. I was just waiting for the right occasion. When I found these parachute pants at H&M (and on sale for only $10!) I knew they'd be perfect together. Since I borrowed the top I figured it just made sense to borrow a pair of shoes as well and I went right for these nude J Crew loafers she had. Aren't sisters the best?

Weekend in Asheville

This weekend my parents rented the cutest house in Asheville, NC and invited all the kids to come out. I hadn't seen one of my brothers in two years so I surprised everyone and just showed up (they thought I had work). We went to a honey festival and of course went hiking. I wanted to be more casual and I'm obsessed with the 90s esque look with flannel around the waist. Next time I just hope I remember hiking shoes so I don't have to hike in my sandals again!

A white tee and a pair of jean shorts is one of the easiest things to throw on and still look cute. One of my favorite looks right now is a white tee, jean shorts, white converse, and a hat.

The perfect summer dress

Maxi dresses are literally the best. They have a way of being casual but also easily dressed up if you want. Its my favorite go-to when I'm feeling lazy but want to look put together still. The one I'm wearing is from target and you cant really tell from the pictures but its pleated. And I love a good pleated dress. Or skirt. Or maybe just anything pleated......

The hat I'm wearing was on super sale when I bought it online from nordstrom but the fit isn't that great so I tagged one that should be better. The shoes are older LC by Lauren Conrad. Both of the bracelets are from Kendra Scott ( and borrowed from my sister!).
